Catalysis and Coordination Chemistry
The group performs research that spans the areas of organic and transition metal chemistry. Our goals are to enable the activation of strong chemical bonds in mild conditions and to provide simple approaches to structurally complex molecules and materials.
We explore the following topics:
- fundamental transition metal chemistry with emphasis on spatial anion control
- challenging reactions in organic synthesis, such as non-directed C-H activation
- novel concepts and asymmetric methods for catalysis
- synthesis of new organic materials
The students will have opportunity to engage in various project topics and gain expertise in both organic and coordination chemistry.
