Travel Award 2026
The CMSZH Travel Award includes a contribution of up to CHF 2000 towards the cost of active participation at an international conference in the fields of Chemical and Molecular Sciences.

Rules for the Travel Award 2026
- In 2026 there will be x travel awards.
- The prerequisite for participation is a one page application letter and a text-based CV according to the SNF-template (Link to the SNF template). Please specify the conference you plan to attend.
- A jury, consisting of three PIs from the DoC, selects the top 30% of applicants. The winners of the travel awards are determined from this pool by a lottery.
Requirements
- PhD member of CMSZH (Deadline Defense 27.03.2026 or later)
- Application Letter (one page) as pdf:
o Why does the applicant want to present her/his research at the conference?
o What is the relevance of research for the field, is it beyond state-of-the-art?
o What will the applicant gain from presenting at the conference?
o The application letter must be signed by the PI to approve the application. - CV as pdf:
The CV is text-based, new SNSF style, and should outline the three main achievements of
the candidate at the current stage of their career. No bullet-points.
These can include (but are not limited to): Research (including relevant
preprints/publications if available, not necessarily first author), chemistry outreach,
participation in extracurricular activities (e.g., ICHO), teaching activities and awards. The
selection is up to the candidate, whatever she/he considers the main achievements that
she/he is most proud of. It can be research-based only, but also anything else from the
above list. Deadline of application: 27.03.2026 at 6 pm.
